The two-match T20 and three-match ODI series has been squeezed in between India`s ongoing full series against the England cricket team, which has taken a break to go home for Christmas and New Year holidays.

Five years after their bilateral cricket ties snapped due to the Mumbai terror attack, India and Pakistan are set to slug it out in what promises to be a high-voltage limited-over series starting with the first Twenty20 international here on Tuesday.

India and Pakistan, which last played a bilateral series in 2007, squared off in multi-national events several times after 2008 but for the first time, a Pakistani cricket team will be hosted for a series after the attacks.

The Indian team is under some sort of pressure because of the weak bowling attack. The batsmen did well in the recently concluded T20 series against England, but the bowlers failed to show any teeth as both Dinda and Awana leaked runs in plenty.

It is a high-voltage clash and both the teams will be under pressure to deliver. India would consider themselves lucky as they are in some sort of rhythm after playing a 2-match T20 international series with England.

Pakistan on the other hand have been a force to reckon with in the shortest version of the game. They have better all-rounders in form of skipper Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and veteran Shahid Afridi, a factor which could give them a slight edge over Team India.

India Squad:

MS Dhoni (c & wk), Gautam Gambhir, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Ravichandran Ashwin, Piyush Chawla, Parvinder Awana, Ashok Dinda, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Ambati Rayudu

Pakistan Squad:

Mohammad Hafeez (c), Kamran Akmal (wk), Nasir Jamshed, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Amin, Zulfiqar Babar, Asad Ali, Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shehzad, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Irfan

India have lost three T20 games, all in bilateral series, between the two sides. They had lost bilateral matches played at Lord's in June 2009 and the next two held at Manchester and Kolkata in August and October last year.

England have included T20 specialists like Alex Hales, Jos Butler, Jade Dernbach, James Tredwell, Michael Lumb, Luke Wright and Danny Briggs – some of who have been part of the development squad which played a few matches in Navi Mumbai when the Test matches were on.
Bresnan and Patel also had the opportunity to play in two and three Tests while Morgan and Bairstow did not.

Retained from the Test squad along with captain Morgan are Tim Bresnan, wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow, Samit Patel and Joe Root, who made an impressive Test debut in the final match.

The game here would be the first T20 International played at the swanky Sahara Stadium on the city's outskirts which hosted IPL matches last year. It has a capacity of 43,000.

Team Squad :
  • India: Mahendra Sing Dhoni (captain), Gautam Gambhir, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Piyush Chawla, Ashok Dinda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun and Parvinder Awana.
  • England: Eoin Morgan (captain), James Harris, Jonny Bairstow, Tim Bresnan, Danny Briggs, Jos Butler, Jade Dernbach, Alex Hales, Michael Lumb, Stuart Meaker, Samit Patel, Joe Root, James Tredwell and Luke Wright.

The 61st annual Miss Universe pageant will be broadcast live at 8pm ET (2am GMT) via NBC to approximately 190 countries.

The big show will be hosted by Andy Cohen (the host of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live) and Giuliana Rancic, a co-anchor on E! News. Celebrity judges, led by pageant owner Donald Trump, include The Voice mentor Cee Lo Green, San Francisco Giants MVP Pablo Sandoval, TV host Nigel Barker, actor singer Diego Boneta, 2010 Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete of Mexicio and reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump.

Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes of Angola, will crown the successor at the end of the two-hour television special.

Trump, who owns the Miss Universe Organisation and all its pageants, including the Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA beauty contests, retaliated by filing a suit against Monnin in a New York court.
Retired U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Theodore H. Katz determined that Monnin had defamed the Miss Universe Organisation, and awarded it £3 million in damages. In his ruling, Katz stated that, "the method in which the Miss USA Pageant is judged . . . precludes any reasonable possibility that the judging was rigged."

Trump stated that Monnin was simply upset because she was not selected as a Miss USA semi-finalist.

KHAIRUL AMRI vs THEERATHON BUNMATHAN
Other than captain Shahril Ishak's goalscoring exploits, this campaign has been about Khairul Amri's renaissance. Hitting a superb free-kick against Laos in the final group game, striking another opportunistic goal against Philippines in the semi-final second leg, and not to forget that 2007 goal against Thailand - the 27-year-old has a reputation of being the trump card for the Lions. The surviving members from five years ago will certainly remember that strike, and whether he can perform will hugely depend on Thailand left back Theerathon. With only a handful of caps and this marking his debut AFF Cup campaign, the 22-year-old's assured performances on the pitch so far has belied his tender years. Neat at the back and dangerous when pushing forward to support Anucha Kitpongsri with his accurate delivery from crosses - Theerathon could be the secret weapon to Thailand's success.

BAIHAKKI KHAIZAN vs TEERASIL DANGDA
The mention of the name 'Teerasil Dangda' will definitely strike fear into any Singapore defender right now. Not the biggest or tallest of frontmen, the 24-year-old more than makes up for it with his perfect timing and his wide array of finishing skills, with his spectacular header against Malaysia in the semi-final first leg winning Goal.com's Goal of the week. Buoyed by successfully keeping out the Philippines duo of Phil Younghusband and Angel Guirado, Baihakki will have to step his game up to yet another level to stop the one-time Manchester City player.

ISA HALIM vs DATSAKORN THONGLAO
A veteran nearing a century of caps at the age of 28, Thailand's master playmaker has always considered his international career a 'failure' without an AFF Cup medal. As proved over the years, the dimunitive Datsakorn always seems to step up his game against the Lions, be it his on-the-ball wizardry or off-the-ball antics. On the other hand, Isa has impressed since occupying the midfield hardman slot vacanted by Hariss Harun. However, roughing it out and impressing against Jerry Lucena and Jason De Jong in the semi-finals is one thing; keeping concentration and temper in check against Datsakorn is another. Datsakorn has already claimed a 'victim' in Fadhli Shas in the semi-finals and the LionsXII man may just be the next one if he is not careful. This should be a blockbuster of a contest.

SHAIFUL ESAH vs JAKKAPAN PORNSAI
Stopping Teerasil might be important, but one should not discount the efforts or quality of the supporting cast. Jakkapan has been an unsung hero so far for the War Elephants, with his excellent stamina and energy down the flanks creating acres of space for his fellow attackers. As shown against Laos and Philippines, the form and fitness of Shaiful is a huge factor in whether the Lions can perform. Strong in the tackle, competent in getting forward and capable of whipping in dangerous crosses - the contest between Shaiful and Jakkapan should be an interesting one.

Despite winning the coin toss, overtime was cruel to the Steelers on Sunday against the Cowboys. [Ben Roethlisberger] didn't question the effort or heart of a team that generally finishes strong but now has lost four of five. However, for the first time, he openly questioned Todd Haley's play calls. Asked why [Heath Miller] (seven catches, 92 yards) didn't see the ball late, he said, "I don't think we called the right plays to get him the ball." He also said it was "disappointing" to get out of the no-huddle that was working. And he also said he and Miller improvised on their 30-yard touchdown pass in the final minute of the first half because, "The play that was called wasn't a good play at all against a prevent defense. So we made up a play."

Roethlisberger (24 of 40, 339 yards, two touchdowns), much better than he was in returning from a three-game injury layoff the week before, didn‘t question the effort or heart of a team that generally finishes strong but now has lost four of five.

However, for the first time, he openly questioned Todd Haley‘s play calls. Asked why Miller (seven catches, 92 yards) didn‘t see the ball late, he said, “I don‘t think we called the right plays to get him the ball.”
He also said it was “disappointing” to get out of the no-huddle that was working. And he also said he and Miller improvised on their 30-yard touchdown pass in the final minute of the first half because, “The play that was called wasn‘t a good play at all against a prevent defense. So we started making a play.”
Apparently, it‘s not just the rest of the league that‘s questioning why a team as talented as the Steelers is clinging to their playoff life. So are the Steelers themselves.

 Team Squad :
Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, David Luiz, Cole; Ramires, Lampard (c); Moses, Mata, Hazard; Torres.

Corinthians: Cassio; Alessandro, Chicao, Paulo Andre, Fabio Santos; Ralf, Paulinho; Danilo, Emerson, Jorge Enrique; Guerrero.

A win today would relieve the pressure on Benitez, who is still far from popular with Chelsea fans despite three wins on the bounce. If he can mastermind a victory today it would be the second time he has won this competition after doing so with Inter two years ago. He has also lost a final to Brazilian opposition before though, against Sao Paulo while he was Liverpool manager in 2005.

A couple of names to look out for in the Corinthians team are talented young midfielder Paulinho and Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero, formerly of Bayern Munich. I'm personally looking forward to seeing Ralf play: what a name.

Expect Chelsea to line up in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation with David Luiz reverting back to his usual defensive role after playing in midfield in the semi-final win over Monterrey. Cesar Azpilicueta is the man to make way with Branislav Ivanovic moving to right back.

Now, Russia Against by Finland after win over Sweden on Thursday match

The Russian followed up Thursday's 5-1 win over Sweden with an amazing 6-0 win over the Czechs. Player of the game was definitely Pavel Datsyuk who scored three goals.

The first half of the second period was a great show by the Russian team. Sergei Mozyakin scored 3-0 on the power play with his third goal of the tournament. Datsyuk made it 4-0 after a beautiful combination with his linemates. After the fourth goal the Czechs switched goalies. Alexander Salak entered the ice instead of Ondrej Pavelec..

Russia had a 2-0 lead after the first period. Alexander Radulov deflected a shot by Alexei Yemelin for 1-0. Pavel Datsyuk scored 2-0 with a nice move. The Czechs also had chanses to score. Especially Ales Hemsky who had two great attempts.

In the third period the game dropped in pace. The Russians scored 5-0 by Yevgeny Malkin and 6-0 by Datsyuk and then they wanted to help their goalie Vasily Koshechkin to earn the shutout. And he did, even if the Czechs got a power play opportunity at the end of the game.

The ninth Club World Cup features the champions from FIFA's six confederations, plus a team from the host nation.

FIFA employed goal line technology for Sunday's match. The Hawk-Eye system, which uses seven high-speed cameras set up at different angles at each goal to calculate whether the ball has crossed the goal line or not, was installed but didn't come into play. The magnetic-field-based system of GoalRef is being used at Yokohama Stadium.

Substitute Mohamed Aboutrika scored in the second half on Sunday as Egypt's Al-Ahly beat Japan's Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2-1 to advance to the semifinals of the Club World Cup.

Aboutrika took a pass from Ahmed Fathi and beat Hiroshima goalkeeper Takuya Masuda in the 57th minute to send the African champions to a semifinal clash against South American champions Corinthians on Wednesday.

Monterrey will face European champions Chelsea in the semifinals on Thursday.
Teenage winger Jesus Corona put Monterrey ahead just nine minutes in when he took a pass from striker Aldo De Nigris and fired into a wide-open net from close range.

Delgado converted a pass from De Nigris in the 77th minute to give the CONCACAF champions a 2-0 lead and made it 3-0 seven minutes later, dodging a defender and firing past Ulsan goalkeeper Kim Young-kwang from just inside the area.

"If we can play like we did today against Chelsea we will have a chance," Monterrey coach Victor Vucetich said. "Last year we lost in the quarterfinals here because we didn't have time to prepare. This year we had plenty of time to get ready for this match."

"It was a very difficult match," Al-Ahly coach Hossam El Badry said. "We were playing against a very organized team but we studied them well and deserve the win."
Earlier, Mexican club Monterrey also progressed to the semis with a 3-1 win over South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai.

Striker Elsayad Hamdi put the African champions ahead in the 15th minute, converting a pass from Fathi and beating Masuda, who came on in the eighth minute after Shusaku Nishikawa was injured in a collision.
Sanfrecce striker Hisato Sato, the J-League's Player of the Year, tied the match in the 32nd minute when he got behind Al-Ahly defenders and hit a right-footed shot that deflected in off goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy.
Sato had a golden opportunity to level the score when he got behind the Al-Ahly defenders in the 81st minute but his effort was off target.

Lee Keun-ho got a lucky consolation goal for the Asian champions in the 88th minute when his long-range shot was fumbled by goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco.

"The attacking style of this team was quite different than anything we have seen in Asia," Ulsan coach Kim Ho-kon said. "The difference of Asian football was made clear today."

SAN DIEGO, CA -December 10, 2012– Jean Pascal (26-2-1, 16 KOs), the proven World Boxing Council (WBC) Light Heavyweight champion from 2009 to 2011, is returning to the ring to battle former Olympian and two-time WBO world challenger Aleksy Kuziemski, live and exclusively on WealthTV Friday, December 14 at 7 PM EST from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

Looking to upset the apple cart, Kuziemski (23-4, 7 KOs), comes into this fight with extensive amateur and professional experience. He won a bronze medal at the 2003 World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, and represented Poland in the 2004 Athens Olympics (Pascal fought for Canada in the same Olympiad.) Kuziemski has also challenged for a WBO world title twice but came up short against champion Juergen Braehmer and undefeated Nathan Cleverly

In 2010, Pascal had an impressive victory over the then undefeated Chad Dawson, giving Dawson his first professional loss. Pascal twice went the distance with the legendary Bernard Hopkins. In the first Pascal v. Hopkins fight, Pascal became the first man to put the future Hall of Famer on the canvas in more than fifteen years, yet Pascal was only able to secure a draw. In Pascal’s last outing, a WBC/IBO world unification fight against Dawson back in May of 2011, Pascal took Hopkins the distance but came up short on points. Pascal plans to once again fight WBC Light Heavyweight Champion Chad Dawson on March, 23 2013 but before that fight can take place Pascal must get himself back in the various boxing associations’ rankings with an impressive performance against Kuziemski.

The card also contains middleweight, David Lemieux (27-2, 26 KOs), who has astonishingly knocked out 26 opponents in his 27 victories. Lemieux will square off against a tough Albert Ayrapetyan (20-3, 9 KOs.)

EleiderAlverez (10-0, 6 KO) will trading punches with England’s Danny McIntosh (13-3, 7KOs) for the WBO NABO light heavyweight title. Both Lemieux and Alverez appeared on WealthTV on October, 12, 2012, both won in knockouts in the first and second round respectively.

“Jean Pascal is one of the most exciting fighters in the world. We know Kuziemski has been training hard and will be trying to make a statement, making the toe-to-toe action exciting for our viewers,” stated Tommy Morris, director of live events for WealthTV. “The main event will have fight fans on the edge of their seats. We’re also excited about the strong undercard bouts featuring a number of undefeated rising stars, making for a great night of professional boxingentertainment,” Morris concluded.

Additionally, undefeated super featherweight Logan McGuinness (18-0 9 KOs) is scheduled for 10 rounds with Carlos Manuel Reyes (23-1-1, 15 KOs) and welterweights KevinBizier (18-0, 13KOs) and upset specialist Doel Carrasquillo will duke it out as well.

Hong Kong will have to overcome a stern test up front against a physical Belgium outfit today if they are to retain the Emirates Airline Cup of Nations title, said manager Dai Rees after he named the strongest starting lineup on tour, including fit-again scrumhalf Kirk Munro and winger Tom McQueen.

Hong Kong will field a new halves combination in Munro and Chris McAdam with the midfield comprising Stewart Megaw and Craig Wilson. The back three will be wingers Salom Yiu Kam-shing and McQueen with McColl at fullback.

Belgium's Alan Williams, has urged his team to show more discipline and to get back to basics after the team received a red card - prop Alain Miriallakis given his marching orders for a head butt - and two yellow cards in the 28-11 victory over Zimbabwe.

Both teams have two wins under their belts, having seen off Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates, and the final clash will be mouthwatering with plenty at stake for captain Tom McColl and his men.
Hong Kong are ranked 28th, while Belgium are 23rd. A successful title defence could see Hong Kong move up two or three places and make them the second highest-placed team, a slot presently occupied by South Korea (27) in Asia next to Japan.

Lock Terence Montgomery also comes back into the starting line-up after being on the bench against UAE and will combine with Charles French, while No 8 Pale Tauti and flanker Matt Lamming return to join Nick Hewson who has been a tower of strength on tour.

"They play a very French-oriented style of rugby which is physical forward play coupled with swift counter-attacks from all over the park and we will have to counter this. Defence and retaining possession will be the key to winning," Rees said.

"Our highest ranking has been 26 which we acquired after last year's performance at this tournament. While ranking does not really matter, it will be a nice performance indicator and something which our guys, who are very proud, will be keen to have," Rees said.

"But it won't be easy. We will need to win our set pieces and then retain control of the ball as we go through the phases. We will be up against a very powerful pack and our forwards will be under a lot of pressure.
"I have been very impressed by Belgium. They will come at us hard but our guys are ready for it," he said.
Hong Kong have been able to rotate their 28-man squad and have given their top front row - Ian Ridgway, Tom Bolland and Steve Nolan - a rest before the crucial game.

Match scheduled to begin at 10:30 local time (23:30 GMT)

Australia squad
MJ Clarke*, SR Watson, EJM Cowan, BW Hilfenhaus, PJ Hughes, MEK Hussey, MG Johnson, NM Lyon, PM Siddle, MA Starc, MS Wade†, DA Warner

Sri Lanka squad
DPMD Jayawardene*, AD Mathews, LD Chandimal, TM Dilshan, RMS Eranga, N Pradeep, HMRKB Herath, HAPW Jayawardene†, S Randiv, FDM Karunaratne, KMDN Kulasekara, NT Paranavitana, KTGD Prasad, TT Samaraweera, KC Sangakkara, UWMBCA Welegedara.

Australia begin their series against Sri Lanka with the first Test starting Friday at Hobart. We’ll bring you the live scores of the action throughout the match from Bellerive oval, starting at 10.30am local on December 14.

The bad news does not end there. Only recently and on a surface that was more conducive to quicker bowling than most pitches back home, Sri Lanka went down to New Zealand. In the last three and a half years, they have won only one Test series.

Not that Australia are coming off a high, having lost to South Africa in the final Test match at the WACA in Perth. For one however, South Africa is ranked number one in the world. Secondly, Australia did have the better of their opposition in the first two Tests but were denied by the weather in one and lacked the killer punch in the second.

They will now welcome the return of their main pace bowlers, Ben Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle, both of who missed the last Test match because of exhausion. That should aid their cause against an opponent who may not enjoy pace and swing too much. They replace Mitchell Johnson and John Hastings.
There is also one forced change in the batting order; Ricky Ponting’s retirement from international cricket brings Phil Hughes back into contention.

Sri Lanka’s batting will have the usual suspects – T Dilshan at the top of the innings and Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara in the middle.

Add a new opener Dimuth Karunaratne and another experienced head in Thilan Samaraweera in the middle and their top five is decided. Captain in the waiting and all-rounder Angelo Matthews will bat at six with the keeper and the bowlers to follow.

On paper and historically, Australia are a far superior side.
They have a few batsmen who are in the form of their life-time and others who can explode against an inexperienced bowling line-up. And they will be up against a side that has never won a Test in Australia.
Overall too, Sri Lanka’s record in Test matches is rather poor against the Aussies. Of the 23 Tests played between the two sides, Sri Lanka have won only one and lost 14 in the process.

Originally an opener, Hughes will bat at three, pushing Shane Watson down to the number four position in the batting-order. The last time he was in the side, he couldn’t stop nicking the deliveries to the slips and it will be interesting to see if anything has changed since.

Among those expected to bowl, only Rangana Herath has played a considerable amount of Test matches. The other three, Nuwan Kulasekara, Shaminda Eranga and Chanaka Welegedara have picked up a combined total of 99 wickets and will be tested despite bowling in helpful conditions.
We will bring you the live coverage throughout the game from Hobart and hope to receive your opinions as the action unfolds.

AFF Suzuki Cup semi-finals. Two legs elimination.
Thailand finished 1st in Group A, winning comfortably all the games. In the last game to Vietnam, german coach Schäfer rested regular players, and they are expected back to reinforce the team.

These teams played a friendly game, one month ago. Thailand won 2-0, having the main control. Looking at Malaysia' problems, and Thailand raising its form, I will back the guests to win this game.

Thailand will travel to Bukit Jalil stadium against Malaysia in semi-final first leg on Sunday. It will be important match to Thailand if they want to go to Final.

Thailand itself has been showing impressive performance so far in the AFF Cup. They came out as winners of Group A after beating three opponents present, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Myanmar. Not strange if then Thailand became favorites to win the AFF 2012.

Malaysia finished 2nd in Group B, winning surprisely to Indonesia in last game, when they were thought already eliminated. Coach Rajagobal has five important players injured, in doubt to play the game. Among them is top goalscorer Mohd Sali (49 caps, 21 goals), as well as three midfielders, Wan Nor, Shaari, and Kunanlan.

Malaysia also had defeated Thailand 0-2 in a friendly match last month, but that is only friendly match and this time the atmosphere of Bukit Jalil fans will be different and Malaysia have prove that they difficult beaten in their home after crucial win against Indonesia although first match lost against Singapore because of the team unlucky. Thailand's target of avoiding defeat in the first leg of the Malaysian cons will already be ideal considering the second leg will be held in Thailand.

After winning the first Test in Ahmedabad, the hosts were outplayed by England in the next two matches in Mumbai and Kolkata and will be looking for their first series win in India since 1985.

The visitors will be now filled with confidence by outplaying the hosts with both ball and bat in last two test games in Mumbai and Kolkata, after opening the campaign in a depressed manner of losing in Ahmedabad. Alastair Cook is in shining form having scored 548 runs in six innings with Kevin Pietersen, Jonathon Trott and Matt Prior there for his support. English bowling department is dominated by spinners Monty Panesar and Graeme Swann but Steve Finn and James Anderson showed in Kolkata that the pacers can make an impact under the favorable conditions. The probable English squad will include: 1 Alastair Cook, 2 Nick Compton, 3 Jonathan Trott, 4 Kevin Pietersen, 5 Ian Bell, 6 Samit Patel, 7 Matt Prior, 8 Tim Bresnan, 9 Graeme Swann, 10 James Anderson, 11 Monty Panesar.

Under-performing senior players in the Indian line-up, including skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and veteran batsman Sachin Tendulkar, are under severe pressure not only to lift the side with supreme personal efforts but also to save their careers after India's spineless displays at the Wankhede Stadium and the Eden Gardens.

Indian openers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have been pretty casual in their approach thus far, in stark contrast to the grinding efforts of rival skipper Alastair Cook, England's top batsman in the series, and rookie Nick Compton, who has slowly and steadily found his feet after a nervous debut in Ahmedabad's opening Test.

On the other hand, India has now the last chance to level the series with a sure victory otherwise they will lose the trophy in their own land. Pragyan Ojha will prove to be crucial for the Indian side, he has been their best player so far and now needs to perform brilliantly to support his team at its way towards victory.  The likely Indian lineup will include: 1 Gautam Gambhir, 2 Virender Sehwag, 3 Cheteshwar Pujara, 4 Sachin Tendulkar, 5 Virat Kohli, 6 Ajinkya Rahane, 7 MS Dhoni, 8 R Ashwin, 9 Piyush Chawla, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Pragyan Ojha.

Trailing the buoyant visitors 1-2 in the rubber after being outplayed in the second and third encounters at Mumbai and Kolkata, the home players need to sort themselves out on several fronts to level the series at the VCA Stadium in Jamtha.

The middle order has been pathetic with only Cheteshwar Pujara showing spunk in the first two Tests before going off the boil.

Someone like Virat Kohli, who was the best batsman for the team in Australia, has fallen away so much to casual shots that he has mustered a pathetic 85 runs in six innings, an indication of the malaise afflicting the team.

To give an impetus to the non-performing middle order, the Indian selectors have chopped the under-performing Yuvraj Singh from the squad and brought in the in-form Ravindra Jadeja and the Saurashtra all-rounder is set to make his Test debut.

Jadeja can certainly complement the style of Ojha and the off-spin of Ravichandran Ashwin, who has not looked the part of a Test bowler except in the closing stages of the Kolkata game when he concentrated on sticking to a correct line and limiting his variations to the minimum.

While Cook has led from the front with aplomb, the other leading batsmen have rallied around him, with top batsman Kevin Pietersen playing the defining knock in the Mumbai Test and Matt Prior and Compton playing the supporting roles with panache.

The bowlers too have delivered and it is not only the spinners Monty Panesar (16 wickets in 2 Tests) and Graeme Swann (17 in 3). The fast bowlers James Anderson and fit-again Steven Finn have also proved their worth by using reverse swing to telling effect in Kolkata.

India have also dropped the out-of-form Zaheer Khan and replaced him with Delhi pacer Parvinder Awana.

But Ishant Sharma and Ashok Dinda, yet to play his first Test, appear to be the two first-choice pacers for the hosts and Awana may have to wait for his chance.

They can sit on the 2-1 lead by playing for a draw, but it's fraught with danger and captain Cook has responded in a similar fashion after the team's victory in the third match.

SINGAPORE — The 1st leg of the Suzuki Cup 2012 between Philippines and Singapore showed me exactly what I thought would happen. It played out to a draw 0 – 0 but it was the performances of the players that caught my eye.

Whilst this was effective in the opening 30 minutes, you have to say that the Philippines started to get to grips with that and then closed ranks so that it wasn’t so easy for the Lions to use that attacking threat.

For me, the performance of the back 4 was the key to the Azkals keeping a clean sheet. The midfield was stout, but not expansive, but the credit has to go to Rob Gier and Juan Guirado who were rock solid at the back and kept the attacking force of Singapore at bay.

Ed Scapanio’s performance also needs to be mentioned, as the keeper didn’t put a foot wrong for the 90 minutes. Once again upfront, the Younghusband’s performances were not sparkling but they were steady.

Especially some of the players that I mentioned in my preview for the game and a few new pretenders that stood up for their respective countries.

I thought that the first half of the game belonged to Singapore. They played attacking and expansive football and created enough chances to win the game.

However credit needs to go to the Azkals as they came out the 2nd half and really showed the spirit that they needed to, to make sure the game will go all the way down to the wire and the 2nd leg this week.

For me, Singapore’s tactics were apparent straight from the off. They pulled Alexander Duric out into a wide position to try and isolate Carlos De Murga so that Singapore could get runners going forwards and in behind the Azkals defense.

In my opinion Dabrowa Gornicza have really good chances to make win in this match, but this match can be very close.. +1.5 sets asian handicap option look like very good go to play, especially with Pinnacle Sports. I must try it.

Dabrowa Gornicza in first match between both teams lost 1:3 at home, but match was close.

Dabrowa Gornicza after two wins in a row in this moment have real chances to advance from this group, but must take win in this match. Form is very good in this moment, 5 wins in last 5 matches. Last match in this group won against Dresdner 3:0 at home.

Eczacibasi without big motivation here, first position for sure. Last match in this competition at home won against Dresdner, but 3:2. If Dresdner took 2 sets here, Dabrowa Gornicza can do it too.

Kuwait National Football Team got 2nd place in AFC Asian Cup in 2011 and it was surprising result. I believe Kuwait will play semi-final at the least in WAFF Championship.

Oman National Football Team started WAFF Championship with a dissapoinment that they lost 1-0 against Lebanon in a home match. Oman is one of the weakest team of WAFF Championship Group A and I will be surprised if they can promote from group stage.

Kuwait National Football Team will play against Oman Football National Team in Kuwait at Kazma Stadium. Kuwait just played a match against Palestine and won match: 2-1. Kuwait is one of the strongest team of WAFF Championship Group A at the moment and I think they will able to qualify. Youssef Nasser is important forward player of Kuwait and I believe he will affect to match against Oman.

Belgium will be fresh and confident from their resounding day-one win over hosts UAE (94-3) while Zimbabwe will be determined to tighten their game and take it to the Belgians after losing to the current champions Hong Kong (7-22).

UAE has only recently been awarded full IRB membership and enters the world rankings at 96th and it is expected their goals for each game will remain on developing key areas performance and exposing the side to a higher level of competitor.

In the second game, starting at 6pm, Hong Kong will meet hosts UAE. The hosts will be bracing for possibly the toughest encounter of this campaign, and face a team that has been praised by senior head coach Leigh Jones (from their opening game against Zimbabwe) as putting forward “the best performance I have seen from us (during his 3-year tenure) against quality opposition.”

Everton have lost just two of their past 24 EPL matches, however, in recent weeks fans have been frustrated they have not been able to convert good performances into wins – claiming too many draws.

Spurs are not good on the road against Everton, and in their last five matches at Goodison Park they have failed to win - a run stretching back to 2007. Meanwhile, the early part of the game could be crucial to the outcome; Everton have conceded more goals in the opening 15 minutes of EPL games this season than anyone, with six conceded early on so far. In comparison Spurs have conceded the lowest in the league in the opening 15 minutes – zero.

Everton vs Tottenham (Spurs) takes place in the English Premier League on Sunday in what should be an exciting clash between two attack-minded teams. The game is scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

Spurs have gone on a good run of form lately and have moved up to fourth place in the Premier League table. They have 26 points from their 15 games so far and a win today would see them move level on points with third placed Chelsea.

AFF Suzuki Cup semi-finals. Two legs elimination.

The 2012 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy will be the 34th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for men. The tournament will be held in Australia from December 1–9, 2012. On May 8, 2012, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced that Melbourne is the host city with State Netball and Hockey Centre as the venue of tournament

The Dutch are one of the most experienced teams at the Champions Trophy and will take on one of the relative rookies in their quarterfinal meeting against New Zealand. Despite lack of Champions Trophy caps for the Black Sticks, the two nations have still met six times in Champions Trophy history. The Dutch have won four of those meetings, drawn once and lost only once. The lone loss came in 2010 in a 3-1 preliminary round decision. The cards are definitely stacked against the Black Sticks historically in Thursday's game. Add to the fact that the Netherlands is the top seed out of its pool and it means New Zealand will have to bring their A Game tomorrow to stay in the hunt for a medal.

Much like the first match of the day, this meeting between two hockey giants is steeped in tradition. The sides have met an epic 23 times, with host Australia holding the clear advantage with 16 wins, 7 draws and zero losses (includes Great Britain results as well). Yes, that’s right, never have the Aussies lost against England and add to the lopsided record the fact that Australia has out-scored England nearly two to one in those meetings (61-30). But there is hope for the northern nation, England had also never won against Germany prior to this edition of the Champions Trophy and managed to put that streak to an end with a win on Sunday. Clearly the young English squad is unfazed by previous results and Thursday could be England’s chance to at last get the elusive victory against the Aussies, despite history being in the hosts’ favour.

The 34th Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy at Melbourne from Dec 1-9, 2012

The 2012 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy will be the 34th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for men. The tournament will be held in Australia from December 1–9, 2012. On May 8, 2012, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced that Melbourne is the host city with State Netball and Hockey Centre as the venue of tournament.

India vs Pakistan
When the top-seeded Indians square off against the fourth-seeded Belgians, it is truly anyone’s guess what will happen. This is Belgium’s first Champions Trophy appearance in the small nation’s history, and they are still looking for their first point at this level after going 0-3 in the preliminary round. India had a spectacular preliminary round, but also has limited recent experience at the Champions Trophy with their last appearance at the event coming in 2005. The history books are no help in predicting the winner of this one, so our tip is to simply hold on to your hats and enjoy the ride.

The 2012 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy Tournament will be held from 1-9 December 2012 at the State Netball Hockey Centre, Melbourne. Hosting the top four-ranked teams in the world and four highly regarded invitational teams.

Countries taking part in the Hockey Champions Trophy include Australia, Belgium, England, India, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Pakistan It will be the third major hockey tournament for Australia's sporting capital since the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and the 2009 Men’s Champions Trophy.

As the first major international men’s event after the London Olympics, the Hockey Champions Trophy will provide spectators the opportunity to watch the best teams in the world compete including London Olympic gold medalists Germany.

Teams which finished first to fifth in the 2011 edition and the winner of 2011 Champions Challenge I are granted participation for the tournament. The remaining two places were decided by the FIH Executive Board, with one already given to India. Though Spain finished second in the 2011 edition, they were not qualified for 2012.

This will be the second fight of the year for fan favorite Mikkel Kessler. He knocked out Allan Green in May of this year. Currently, Kessler has an overall record of 45 wins and just two losses. 34 of his victories came by the way of knockout. The 33 year old is hoping that an impressive victory over Brian Magee will put him in line for a big money rematch against Carl Froch. Kessler actually defeated Froch in an entertaining (and controversial) fight back in 2010.

Brian Magee will enter the ring as the clear underdog. At 37 years old, he is past his prime and has never been on the same level as Mikkel Kessler as a professional prized fighter. His overall record consists of 36 wins, four losses and one draw. He has 25 wins coming by way of knockout.

This fight could be fun to watch while it lasts, but we would be very surprised if Kessler doesn't eventually knockout Magee. We realize that Magee is a crowd pleaser and will fight his heart out, but he is not on the same level as Kessler. Mikkel Kessler shouldn't be fighting guys like Magee because he is obviously better than them. It is time for him to step up his level of competition and start fighting the best in the world again.

Dempo SC are back to familiar territory as they are on top of the I-League after beating Salgaocar FC last weekend. Armando Colaco's men were helped by the fact that East Bengal had drawn away to Shillong Lajong FC. They now face Eelco Schattorie's Prayag United who are still coming to terms with the defeat handed to them at home by Mumbai FC.

Colaco's squad is hit with injuries to key personnel Clifford Miranda, Anthony Pereira, Koko Sakibo and Subasish Roychoudhury. However, their replacements performed admirably against Salgaocar and got the three points.

No player would have liked to be in the vicinity of Eelco Schattorie last week as he saw his Prayag United side throw away a lead in the dying embers of the game to Mumbai FC and ended up losing the match 3-2. After a rollicking start to his Prayag managerial career by beating United Sikkim 10-1, the Dutchman's side have not looked exactly at their best and have been exposed defensively on more than one occasion. The Kolkata side will not find things any easier when they visit the home of the reigning I-League champions Dempo SC who are currently on top of the table.

The match also marks the return of former Dempo striker Ranti Martins to his old stomping ground. The 26-year old Nigerian spent eight successfull years at Dempo during which he scored an astounding 146 goals. Schattorie will hope that the striker brings his A-game to this game as he looks to assert his influence into this Prayag United side.

TEAM SQUAD :

Dempo SC – Goalkeeper Subhasish Roychoudhury, Clifford Miranda and Anthony Pereira are doubtful starters as they are down with injuries. Romeo Fernandes and Nicolau Borges will in all probabilities keep their places in the starting XI. Rohan Ricketts may get a look-in after his impressive performance last week against Salgaocar.

Prayag United SC – The Kolkatans may recall Subrata Paul to the playing XI after Ishan Debnath's dreadful performance in the loss to Mumbai FC last week. The rest of the team is likely to remain the same as Schattorie looks to end the side's recently acquired rut.

After a confident start to the tournament, the way Singapore conceded three goals against Laos was indeed worrying. Thus ‘Bai’ will need to summon the experience accumulated from his near-century of caps to hold the Lions' fort and stop Phil from inflicting damage on them.

Similarly, despite an unimpressive start to the tournament, one should not write off the attacking qualities of the older of the Younghusband brothers. Incisive running and good delivery of crosses means the Azkals do pose a threat from out wide – a key problem for the Lions.

As was most evident in the last two games, the flanks have been exposed by fleet-footed attackers and thus the expected return of Shaiful to the starting lineup will be a big boost for the Lions.
Famed for his classy left peg that has already provided two assists in this tournament, the 26-year-old will need to shine in the other side of his game against the classy Azkals attacker.

Despite being relatively young at the age of 22, this is already the third tournament that De Jong has played in for the Azkals, and this tournament could prove to be the coming of age for the Philippines U-23 skipper.
He has made full use of his aggressive style in the middle of the park – stifling the Viets and Burmese in successive games, as well as setting up Phil for the opening goal in the latter game.

With hardman Hariss Harun already ruled out of the tournament, the spotlight falls on Isa who is expected to earn his first start in this edition.

Whether Singapore will win this midfield battle will depends heavily on Isa Halim’s energy and ability to strike up a partnership with Mustafic Fahrudin.

The Sydney Sixers will be up against the Sydney Thunder in the second game of the Big Bash League this season at the Sydney Cricket Ground. We’ll bring you the live scores of the action throughout this game.
Defending champions Sixers have some behind their momentum back in recent times, having gone undefeated in their Champions League Twenty20 victory, and they will hope to maintain that record going into this opener.

Moises Henriques’ contribution with both the bat, and the ball will strengthen the middle-order even as spinning all-rounders Steven Smith and Steve O’Keefe add the necessary zing to the side.
On paper, the Thunder may not have too many big names but they will look to take inspiration from Melbourne Renegades’ opening night win over the star-studded Melbourne Stars.

Dave Warner joins an already strong-looking Sixers squad and might even turn out for them in this game unlike Thunder’s Michael Clarke, who will miss this game because of a back ailment.
Brad Haddin will captain the team which has some big-ticket players, all of who had propped the side up in their Champions League Twenty20 campaign earlier this year.

Michael Lumb, who ended the competition as the top-scorer and got a subsequent recall to the English side for their Twenty20 internationals against India, will form a formidable opening partnership with Warner.
In case of a failure for both, the Sixers will have captain Haddin, Nic Maddinson and Dominic Thornley to shore up the middle order.

In Azhar Mahmood they have an all-rounder who impressed all with his performances at the Champions League Twenty20 for the Auckland Aces and on a helpful SCG track, his leg-cutters will be of immense value – not to mention his ability to smoke a few into the stands.

Clarke may have opted out of this encounter but they have Usman Khawaja to fill in for him. Martin Guptill will bat at the top of the order and hope to get back to his run-scoring form that eluded him in Sri Lanka recently.

Chris Rogers should give him company as the other opener with Chris Gayle unable to join the team for this opening game.

It is the bowling that may worry the Thunder – Dirk Nannes aside, there is not too many much of an experience, with only Scott Coyte and Gurinder Sandhu in the line-up.

Luke Doran was a part of the Big Bash League last season and will hope to continue the good work. His economy of less than 6.5 in eight Twenty20 games is a crucial figure and he will be expected to bowl in the middle overs.

The 34th Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy at Melbourne from Dec 1-9, 2012

India vs. Australia

Germany vs. Pakistan:
These two teams are familiar foes at the Champions Trophy, having already met an amazing 27 times (including West Germany).  The Germans have the advantage in the head-to-head meetings, with 12 wins, 9 losses and six draws. But what is noteworthy is the fact that Germany has scored only two more goals than Pakistan in all those meetings despite holding the clearly stronger record. If previous results are the crystal ball for tomorrow’s game, look for Germany to win by a slim margin.
Netherlands vs. New Zealand:
India vs. Belgium:
When the top-seeded Indians square off against the fourth-seeded Belgians, it is truly anyone’s guess what will happen. Preview: Qatar SC vs El Jaish

Qatar Sports Club coach Saeed Chiba warned his players against taking QSL-newcomers Al Jaish easy, telling his players that El Jaish has experience in their rank. Qatar SC striker Marcio Jose De Oliviera said he took confidence from his team's 2-0 loss against Al Gharafa last week, saying his teammates were warming up nicely in the new season. He said his team had gelled well in the weeks leading upto the new season that began on September 16. Pericles Chamusca, coach of El Jaish, has stated his team needs to be at its best to take down Qatar, a team with fine overseas players in Sebastian Soria, Marcio, Abdel Salam and Jasur Hasanov. Despite the tough assignment against Qatar SC, Al Jaish have been encouraged by Al Khor's surprise result againat former champions Al Gharafa. El Jaish are newcomers to QSL, after an encouraging division two season last year.
