Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary of the La Liga clash between Malaga and Real Zaragoza at the Estadio La Rosaleda.

Malaga regained fourth position in the table with a 3-2 win over Real Mallorca last weekend, but that was their only victory in their last five matches in all competitions.

Zaragoza, meanwhile, have been on a torrid run of form in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last five matches in all competitions to occupy 14th spot in the table.

The reverse fixture earlier in the season ended in a 1-0 win for Malaga, while the home side were 5-1 winners the last time they welcomed Zaragoza to this stadium in February 2012.

They have also impressed down the other end with 33 goals in their 21 matches thus far. Perhaps not too surprisingly, Barcelona top the goals scored table with 71 strikes. Incredible. Right, the team news is just filtering through, I will bring you the ins and outs in the next couple of minutes.

Malaga’s home form has been impressive with six wins, two draws and three defeats from their 11 matches. Meanwhile, they have also been in good form on the road with four wins from their 10 matches, taking 15 points in the process. Their impressive league position has been built on their defence, however, as they currently hold the best defensive record in the division, conceding just 19 times.

Let’s take a closer look at how both sides have fared in the league this season, starting with Malaga. As mentioned, they regained fourth position from Real Betis last week with an away win over Real Mallorca. They have been in disappointing form in recent weeks, but three of their last five matches have been against Barcelona (twice in the Copa del Rey).

In terms of the recent meetings between the two sides, Malaga have certainly enjoyed the best of it. They have scored six goals in their last two matches against Zaragoza, winning on each occasion. Zaragoza have enjoyed recent success in this stadium, however, with a 2-1 win in January 2011. But much has changed at both clubs since then.
