The two-match T20 and three-match ODI series has been squeezed in between India`s ongoing full series against the England cricket team, which has taken a break to go home for Christmas and New Year holidays. Five years after their bilateral cricket ties snapped due to the Mumbai terror attack, India and Pakistan are set to slug it out in what promises to be a high-voltage limited-over series starting with the first Twenty20 international here on Tuesday. India and Pakistan, which last played a bilateral series in 2007, squared off in multi-national events several times after 2008 but for the first time, a Pakistani cricket team will be hosted for a series after the attacks. The Indian team is under some sort of pressure because of the weak bowling attack. The batsmen did well in the recently concluded T20 series against...

After an early exit from the ICC World T20 this year in Sri Lanka, Cricket South Africa (CSA) is making significant changes to the side ahead of 2014 event. Following the promotion of Russell Domingo as the head coach for the shortest format, CSA appointed Faf du Plessis as the captaincy of the T20 side (a team which will include 4 new players this series).   The Kiwis, banking on these changes, are feeling quite confident. Nonetheless, the Black Caps have also included 5 uncapped players to their squad for the T20 stint. The Kiwi all rounder, James Franklin, believes the side needs to think positively, even though they will play the 3-match series as the underdogs. South Africa Team: F du Plessis (c), F Behardien, H Davids, Q de Kock (w), RK Kleinveldt, RE Levi, R McLaren, DA Miller, M Morkel, CH Morris, JL...

India have lost three T20 games, all in bilateral series, between the two sides. They had lost bilateral matches played at Lord's in June 2009 and the next two held at Manchester and Kolkata in August and October last year. England have included T20 specialists like Alex Hales, Jos Butler, Jade Dernbach, James Tredwell, Michael Lumb, Luke Wright and Danny Briggs – some of who have been part of the development squad which played a few matches in Navi Mumbai when the Test matches were on. Bresnan and Patel also had the opportunity to play in two and three Tests while Morgan and Bairstow did not. Retained from the Test squad along with captain Morgan are Tim Bresnan, wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow, Samit Patel and Joe Root, who made an impressive Test debut in the final match. The game here would be the first T20 International played at...

KHAIRUL AMRI vs THEERATHON BUNMATHAN  Other than captain Shahril Ishak's goalscoring exploits, this campaign has been about Khairul Amri's renaissance. Hitting a superb free-kick against Laos in the final group game, striking another opportunistic goal against Philippines in the semi-final second leg, and not to forget that 2007 goal against Thailand - the 27-year-old has a reputation of being the trump card for the Lions. The surviving members from five years ago will certainly remember that strike, and whether he can perform will hugely depend on Thailand left back Theerathon. With only a handful of caps and this marking his debut AFF Cup campaign, the 22-year-old's assured performances on the pitch so far has belied his tender years. Neat at the back and dangerous when pushing forward to support Anucha Kitpongsri with his...

Despite winning the coin toss, overtime was cruel to the Steelers on Sunday against the Cowboys. [Ben Roethlisberger] didn't question the effort or heart of a team that generally finishes strong but now has lost four of five. However, for the first time, he openly questioned Todd Haley's play calls. Asked why [Heath Miller] (seven catches, 92 yards) didn't see the ball late, he said, "I don't think we called the right plays to get him the ball." He also said it was "disappointing" to get out of the no-huddle that was working. And he also said he and Miller improvised on their 30-yard touchdown pass in the final minute of the first half because, "The play that was called wasn't a good play at all against a prevent defense. So we made up a play." Roethlisberger (24 of 40, 339 yards, two touchdowns), much better than he was in returning...

Team Squad :Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, David Luiz, Cole; Ramires, Lampard (c); Moses, Mata, Hazard; Torres. Corinthians: Cassio; Alessandro, Chicao, Paulo Andre, Fabio Santos; Ralf, Paulinho; Danilo, Emerson, Jorge Enrique; Guerrero. A win today would relieve the pressure on Benitez, who is still far from popular with Chelsea fans despite three wins on the bounce. If he can mastermind a victory today it would be the second time he has won this competition after doing so with Inter two years ago. He has also lost a final to Brazilian opposition before though, against Sao Paulo while he was Liverpool manager in 2005. A couple of names to look out for in the Corinthians team are talented young midfielder Paulinho and Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero, formerly of Bayern Munich. I'm personally looking forward to seeing Ralf play:...

Sergei Mozyakin scored 3-0 on the power play with his third goal of the tournament. Datsyuk made it 4-0 after a beautiful combination with his linemates. After the fourth goal the Czechs switched goalies. Alexander Salak entered the ice instead of Ondrej Pavelec.. Russia had a 2-0 lead after the first period. ((((((((((((((((( Enjoy This Match Here )))))))))))))))))))))) The ninth Club World Cup features the champions from FIFA's six confederations, plus a team from the host nation. FIFA employed goal line technology for Sunday's match. The Hawk-Eye system, which uses seven high-speed cameras set up at different angles at each goal to calculate whether the ball has crossed the goal line or not, was installed but didn't come into play. The magnetic-field-based system of GoalRef is being used at Yokohama Stadium. Substitute Mohamed Aboutrika scored in the second half on Sunday as Egypt's Al-Ahly beat Japan's Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2-1 to advance to the semifinals of the Club World Cup. Aboutrika took a pass from Ahmed Fathi and beat Hiroshima goalkeeper Takuya Masuda in the 57th minute to send the African champions to a semifinal...

Looking to upset the apple cart, Kuziemski (23-4, 7 KOs), comes into this fight with extensive amateur and professional experience. He won a bronze medal at the 2003 World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, and represented Poland in the 2004 Athens Olympics (Pascal fought for Canada in the same Olympiad.) Kuziemski has also challenged for a WBO world title twice but came up short against champion Juergen Braehmer and undefeated Nathan Cleverly In 2010, Pascal had an impressive...

Hong Kong will have to overcome a stern test up front against a physical Belgium outfit today if they are to retain the Emirates Airline Cup of Nations title, said manager Dai Rees after he named the strongest starting lineup on tour, including fit-again scrumhalf Kirk Munro and winger Tom McQueen. Hong Kong will field a new halves combination in Munro and Chris McAdam with the midfield comprising Stewart Megaw and Craig Wilson. The back three will be wingers Salom Yiu Kam-shing and McQueen with McColl at fullback. Belgium's Alan Williams, has urged his team to show more discipline and to get back to basics after the team received a red card - prop Alain Miriallakis given his marching orders for a head butt - and two yellow cards in the 28-11 victory over Zimbabwe. Both teams have two wins under their belts, having seen off...

AFF Suzuki Cup semi-finals. Two legs elimination. Thailand finished 1st in Group A, winning comfortably all the games. In the last game to Vietnam, german coach Schäfer rested regular players, and they are expected back to reinforce the team. These teams played a friendly game, one month ago. Thailand won 2-0, having the main control. Looking at Malaysia' problems, and Thailand raising its form, I will back the guests to win this game. Thailand will travel to Bukit Jalil stadium against Malaysia in semi-final first leg on Sunday. It will be important match to Thailand if they want to go to Final. Thailand itself has been showing impressive performance so far in the AFF Cup. They came out as winners of Group A after beating three opponents present, the Philippines,...

After winning the first Test in Ahmedabad, the hosts were outplayed by England in the next two matches in Mumbai and Kolkata and will be looking for their first series win in India since 1985. The visitors will be now filled with confidence by outplaying the hosts with both ball and bat in last two test games in Mumbai and Kolkata, after opening the campaign in a depressed manner of losing in Ahmedabad. Alastair Cook is in shining form having scored 548 runs in six innings with Kevin Pietersen, Jonathon Trott and Matt Prior there for his support. English bowling department is dominated by spinners Monty Panesar and Graeme Swann but Steve Finn and James Anderson showed in Kolkata that the pacers can make an impact under the favorable conditions. The probable English squad will include: 1 Alastair Cook, 2 Nick Compton, 3...

SINGAPORE — The 1st leg of the Suzuki Cup 2012 between Philippines and Singapore showed me exactly what I thought would happen. It played out to a draw 0 – 0 but it was the performances of the players that caught my eye. Whilst this was effective in the opening 30 minutes, you have to say that the Philippines started to get to grips with that and then closed ranks so that it wasn’t so easy for the Lions to use that attacking threat. For me, the performance of the back 4 was the key to the Azkals keeping a clean sheet. The midfield was stout, but not expansive, but the credit has to go to Rob Gier and Juan Guirado who were rock solid at the back and kept the attacking force of Singapore at bay. Ed Scapanio’s performance also needs to be mentioned, as the keeper didn’t put a foot wrong for the 90 minutes. Once again upfront,...

In my opinion Dabrowa Gornicza have really good chances to make win in this match, but this match can be very close.. +1.5 sets asian handicap option look like very good go to play, especially with Pinnacle Sports. I must try it. Dabrowa Gornicza in first match between both teams lost 1:3 at home, but match was close. Dabrowa Gornicza after two wins in a row in this moment have real chances to advance from this group, but must take win in this match. Form is very good in this moment, 5 wins in last 5 matches. Last match in this group won against Dresdner 3:0 at home. Eczacibasi without big motivation here, first position for sure. Last match in this competition at home won against Dresdner, but 3:2. If Dresdner took 2 sets here, Dabrowa Gornicza can do it to...

Kuwait National Football Team got 2nd place in AFC Asian Cup in 2011 and it was surprising result. I believe Kuwait will play semi-final at the least in WAFF Championship. Oman National Football Team started WAFF Championship with a dissapoinment that they lost 1-0 against Lebanon in a home match. Oman is one of the weakest team of WAFF Championship Group A and I will be surprised if they can promote from group stage. Kuwait National Football Team will play against Oman Football National Team in Kuwait at Kazma Stadium. Kuwait just played a match against Palestine and won match: 2-1. Kuwait is one of the strongest team of WAFF Championship Group A at the moment and I think they will able to qualify. Youssef Nasser is important forward player of Kuwait and I believe he will affect to match against Oman. ...

Belgium will be fresh and confident from their resounding day-one win over hosts UAE (94-3) while Zimbabwe will be determined to tighten their game and take it to the Belgians after losing to the current champions Hong Kong (7-22). UAE has only recently been awarded full IRB membership and enters the world rankings at 96th and it is expected their goals for each game will remain on developing key areas performance and exposing the side to a higher level of competitor. In the second game, starting at 6pm, Hong Kong will meet hosts UAE. The hosts will be bracing for possibly the toughest encounter of this campaign, and face a team that has been praised by senior head coach Leigh Jones (from their opening game against Zimbabwe) as putting forward “the best performance I have seen from us (during his 3-year tenure) against quality...

Everton have lost just two of their past 24 EPL matches, however, in recent weeks fans have been frustrated they have not been able to convert good performances into wins – claiming too many draws. Spurs are not good on the road against Everton, and in their last five matches at Goodison Park they have failed to win - a run stretching back to 2007. Meanwhile, the early part of the game could be crucial to the outcome; Everton have conceded more goals in the opening 15 minutes of EPL games this season than anyone, with six conceded early on so far. In comparison Spurs have conceded the lowest in the league in the opening 15 minutes – zero. Everton vs Tottenham (Spurs) takes place in the English Premier League on Sunday in what should be an exciting clash between two attack-minded teams. The game is scheduled to kick off...

The 2012 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy will be the 34th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for men. The tournament will be held in Australia from December 1–9, 2012. On May 8, 2012, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced that Melbourne is the host city with State Netball and Hockey Centre as the venue of tournament The Dutch are one of the most experienced teams at the Champions Trophy and will take on one of the relative rookies in their quarterfinal meeting against New Zealand. Despite lack of Champions Trophy caps for the Black Sticks, the two nations have still met six times in Champions Trophy history. The Dutch have won four of those meetings, drawn once and lost only once. The lone loss came in 2010 in a 3-1 preliminary round decision. The cards are definitely stacked against the Black Sticks historically...

This will be the second fight of the year for fan favorite Mikkel Kessler. He knocked out Allan Green in May of this year. Currently, Kessler has an overall record of 45 wins and just two losses. 34 of his victories came by the way of knockout. The 33 year old is hoping that an impressive victory over Brian Magee will put him in line for a big money rematch against Carl Froch. Kessler actually defeated Froch in an entertaining (and controversial) fight back in 2010. Brian Magee will enter the ring as the clear underdog. At 37 years old, he is past his prime and has never been on the same level as Mikkel Kessler as a professional prized fighter. His overall record consists of 36 wins, four losses and one draw. He has 25 wins coming by way of knockout. This fight could be fun to watch while it lasts, but we would be very surprised...

Dempo SC are back to familiar territory as they are on top of the I-League after beating Salgaocar FC last weekend. Armando Colaco's men were helped by the fact that East Bengal had drawn away to Shillong Lajong FC. They now face Eelco Schattorie's Prayag United who are still coming to terms with the defeat handed to them at home by Mumbai FC.Colaco's squad is hit with injuries to key personnel Clifford Miranda, Anthony Pereira, Koko Sakibo and Subasish Roychoudhury. However, their replacements performed admirably against Salgaocar and got the three points. No player would have liked to be in the vicinity of Eelco Schattorie last week as he saw his Prayag United side throw away a lead in the dying embers of the game to Mumbai FC and ended up losing the match 3-2. After a rollicking start to his Prayag managerial career by beating United Sikkim...

After a confident start to the tournament, the way Singapore conceded three goals against Laos was indeed worrying. Thus ‘Bai’ will need to summon the experience accumulated from his near-century of caps to hold the Lions' fort and stop Phil from inflicting damage on them. Similarly, despite an unimpressive start to the tournament, one should not write off the attacking qualities of the older of the Younghusband brothers. Incisive running and good delivery of crosses means the Azkals do pose a threat from out wide – a key problem for the Lions. As was most evident in the last two games, the flanks have been exposed by fleet-footed attackers and thus the expected return of Shaiful to the starting lineup will be a big boost for the Lions. Famed for his classy left peg that has already provided two assists in this tournament,...

The Sydney Sixers will be up against the Sydney Thunder in the second game of the Big Bash League this season at the Sydney Cricket Ground. We’ll bring you the live scores of the action throughout this game. Defending champions Sixers have some behind their momentum back in recent times, having gone undefeated in their Champions League Twenty20 victory, and they will hope to maintain that record going into this opener.  Moises Henriques’ contribution with both the bat, and the ball will strengthen the middle-order even as spinning all-rounders Steven Smith and Steve O’Keefe add the necessary zing to the side. On paper, the Thunder may not have too many big names but they will look to take inspiration from Melbourne Renegades’ opening night win over the star-studded Melbourne Stars. Dave Warner joins an already strong-looking...

Pakistan vs. Netherlands: Much like the first match of the day, this meeting between two hockey giants is steeped in tradition. The sides have met an epic 23 times, with host Pakistan  holding the clear advantage with 16 wins, 7 draws and zero losses (includes Great Britain results as well). Yes, that’s right, never have the Pakistan lost against Netherlands and add to the lopsided record the fact that Pakistan has out-scored Netherlands nearly two to one in those meetings (61-30).
